Robert "Bob" Daigle was born in Fort Kent, Maine and educated at Fort Kent Community High School and the University of Maine at Orono graduating in 1971 with a B.A. in Sociology.

Mr. Daigle started his career in banking with Fleet Bank, formerly known as Industrial National Bank, in Providence, Rhode Island immediately following his college graduation. Commencing as a management trainee, he held several positions of increasing responsibility in the Consumer Banking Division. He served as vice president for Commercial Loan Administration during the period of 1986 to 1988. Mr. Daigle was named a senior vice president of Fleet National Bank in 1988 where he served as commercial products manager in the Products & Services Division. In 1989, he was appointed senior vice president of Fleet Mortgage Group where he oversaw residential mortgage production and marketing throughout the Northeast.

In 1991, the opportunity to return to his home state of Maine proved hard to resist as Mr. Daigle assumed the position of regional president for Fleet Bank of Maine with responsibility for the bank's Northern and Eastern markets.

In 1996, following a 25-year career with the Fleet organization, Mr. Daigle was named president and CEO of Camden National Bank based in Camden, Maine. In May 1999, he assumed the responsibilities of president and CEO for the bank’s parent company, Camden National Corporation. Mr. Daigle is a director of Camden National Corporation, Camden National Bank, UnitedKingfield Bank, and Acadia Trust, N.A., where he also serves as chairman.

Mr. Daigle has been active in community and professional affairs. He is a trustee of Northeast Health, co-chair of Maine Employers for Affordable Health Insurance, chairman of the University of Maine Foundation Board of Trustees and honorary member of the University of Maine President’s Development Council. He is past president and currently a director of the Maine Bankers Association. Mr. Daigle is a director of the American Bankers Professional & Fidelity Insurance Company, Ltd. In March 2005, he was appointed by Governor John E. Baldacci to serve on the newly-created Maine Creative Economy Council.

Mr. Daigle resides with his wife, Brenda, in Rockport, Maine.
