Innovation and You

Reflections on the CreativeShare Experience

Interview with Arthur Fink

Overview

Society needs new ways to resolve old problems and meet new challenges, and innovative people need a haven where they can explore creative possibilities with kindred spirits.

Although there is no official definition of an innovator, the following words capture a sense of the innovative process: interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, playful, open-ended, evolving, surprising, nonlinear, transformative, unpredictable.

The CreativeShare Innovators Institute is the natural next step to 2005’s Casco Bay / Tampa Bay Creative Economy Weekend on Long Island, Maine. The institute will occur from September 15 to 22, 2006, on Peaks Island, Maine. It is a series of two- to three-day workshops, brainstorming sessions, and informal conversations.

There is no cost for attending the institute. All participants must pay for their own transportation, lodging, food, and miscellaneous expenses. Potential participants will be nominated by Bob Barancik and Amy Blake, the sponsors of this event, and by the Friends of Studio. Read our frequently asked questions to learn more.

Please note that everyone who attends the institute is a colleague-in-creativity, and will help to co-create the gathering by sharing their professional expertise, broad life experiences, and real enthusiasm for new ideas and people.

For more information, contact Bob Barancik at Create@RockLedgeStudios.com or 215.964.3937. Additional key information about RLII 2006 application process and potential workshops will be posted on website by February 15, 2006.
