| Karen Mibus
Karen Mibus has over 12 years of experience with researching and developing new media methods for delivering information primarily via the Internet.
Currently, she is the Multimedia Web Artist for the Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she delivers education and museum information internationally via multimedia for Internet, CD-ROM and DVD. She is also an instructional designer of the Museum’s Virtual History Wing.
Mibus is a board member and the Web site developer for the Royal Theater, Boys & Girls Club of the Suncoast in St. Petersburg, Florida.
From 1999 to 2003, she was the owner and webmaster for her company, ActionWeb Designs, LLC. in New York. Her clients included the Center for a Tobacco Free New York (American Cancer Society), Capital District Tobacco Free Coalition (American Lung Association), New York State Business and Professional Women, and Keuka Housing Council.
She was an Adjunct Instructor of Web Design for the Graphic Design program at the College of St. Rose in New York. She also was president of the Greater Capital Region Business & Professional Women in Albany, New York.
Mibus received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the Milton and Sally Avery Graduate School for the Arts at Bard College in New York. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Magna Cum Laude degree from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She showed her art work at several galleries prior to dedicating her efforts full-time with developing multimedia.
Her passion for art and human rights using multimedia as a communication tool aspires to fulfill the declaration made by Laura Lemay, an internationally-recognized Web design expert:
