John Stuart

John Stuart, an accomplished musician based in Maine, composed and performed the Studio theme song entitled, "I Long for My Island."

Stuart grew up on a remote 300-acre salt-water farm, the descendant of an impoverished line of distinguished landed gentry. His family had original antique paintings on the walls, fine china in the cupboard, and a library of classic books; but there was not a single dollar in the bank. This blend of inherited hubris and acquired humility inspired Stuart's pursuit of a career in music.

For more than 30 years, Stuart has composed and produced music that receives international recognition. Stuart composed music for Sesame Street that still plays around the world every day. He has also written music for the performances of illusionist David Copperfield.

His music underscores countless commercials for companies like McDonald's, Timex, and G.H. Bass. Stuart was nominated for a Grammy as the producer of an album by Noel "Paul" Stookey (from Peter, Paul & Mary) and produced a Jim Newton album that won the Parent's Choice Gold Award.
